My Selenium & Vitamin E HORSE TREATS

Here in the Mid-west we have to suppliment our horses with Sel/E due to the lack of it in our soil. I have always had a hard time getting Sel/E into them -- somehow it was always left in the bottom of their buckets. ;-) SO, I decided to create a recipe for a nutritional 'cookie' that could be given to them daily. AND when we went out of town and rode hard, I could throw a few in my cooler and we would be set! I also made this same recipe with plain salt or electrolytes. It just makes getting those necessary minerals in them, EASY!! My horses LOVE em!

Sel/E cookie Recipe

10 - 1 ounce scoops Se/E

1 lb ground flax seed. 1 package is about $4.00

5 cups quick oats

1 cup molasses

½ jar unsweetened applesauce (3 lb jar)

5 pumps of cocasoya oil or 1 ½ cups oil.

Bake 400 deg. For 40 min.

This recipe makes 30 cookies, which contains 1/3 ounce of Sel/E per cookie. So depending on the need in your area, you can adjust how many you feed per day.
