With his 15.3 HH and wide stature, Nanza is a tall, impressive stallion, with the sweetest personality and kindest eyes. Color: buckskin tobiano sabino. Coat: very curly in Winter, wavy in Summer, Nanza keeps lovely long ringlets in his mane when he does not rub it. Nanza is heterozygous for cream, sabino and tobiano genes. As of April 2009, he produced 60% fillies and 60% tobiano sabino (pinto). All Nanza's babies are usually sold in utero (before birth) and some are already exported to Europe. Nanza possesses all characteristics of the best Curlies: kind of "bomb proof temperament, quiet, with a deep love for his humans and kids, willing to please. He is a huge puppy and our visitors always have a hard time to trust us when we tell them that Nanza is a stallion at stud, not a very quiet gelding. Under saddle, he could be a little stubborn as he is too smart and get bored when only doing standard arena work. But if you bring him on trail or do "horses games", giving him new challenges, he will be your best buddy! We ride Nanza with a bit-less bridle and he will ponying kids with a lot of cares. Nanza has comfortable gaits, honest movements, good dispositions. Nanza passes his incredible curiosity and sweet temperament to his babies. They seems to all pass through an "ugly duckling" age like their sire did, but they transform into really well built, sturdy and quiet horses when they turn 3 years of age. His first son is already employed as a main stud in Texas.

Copper's Rainmaker is a second generation Stallion at our farm.
He passes on his great disposition and fabulous movement to all his offspring. And of course there is the Curl! Rain stands at 15 hands and carries alot of Damele and Mead lines.
Rain is a personable and easy-to-manage horse. He genuinely wants to please the people working with him and is quite the model when a camera is present.
He seems to know how to pose to get just the right shot, whether it is showing off his fluid movement or standing for "stud pictures."
With his tight curls and excellent bloodlines, Rain is a superb choice for your next breeding.

Kinyobi was our second generation born at Yanagi Stables Curly Horses and it's great that we are able to offer now the 3rd generation. Kinyobi stamps his offspring with his good looks and what I love most about him.his incredible temperament. Along with that great temperament he is also very Athletic with elastic movement and a huge overstep. He has a compact build with the conformation to excel in any discipline. The foals he has on the ground are lovely movers with correct conformation and great attitudes.
Kinyobi himself has been a dream to work with. He is highly intelligent and takes to his lessons with very quick understanding. . We have found that all his foals have been very similar, learning very quickly and willingly. Kinyobi will begin his competitive year. In order to show off his athletic abilities, we will be working with him towards competing in Eventing. Kinyobi is a 15hh beautiful bay with 4 socks. He crosses very nicely with heavier built mares if you are looking to refine. He has a great neck and legs which he tends to pass on. Also a lovely refined head. Vegas is a dark bay tobiano Dominant Curly Missouri Fox Trotter stallion. In fact, he is the only Curly MFT breeding stallion in the world with a unique color. All other curly MFT stallions are currently sorrel in color. He is also the only Curly Fox Trotter stallion in the world available for stallion service with no Walker's Prince T. in his pedigree. This offers a unique and rare bloodline as 90% of all Curly Fox Trotters get their curly gene through Walker's Prince T.
He is of the Bashkir Curly Horse bloodlines and is triple registered with the MFTHBA, ICHO and the SSHEBA. Vegas continually amazes us and our trainer with his high intelligence, gentle nature and natural gait which is among the smoothest and best quality he has seen.
His mind is like a steel trap door and he never forgets a lesson even after years without continued training! Not only is he a quick learner, sweet natured, and naturally gaited, Vegas offers straight legs, a strong short top line, and nice strong bones to his foals. Vegas stands at about 14.3 hands, but produces a variety of heights depending on the size of the mare. Many of his offspring are taller than Vegas. His first son, Dallas, stands at 15.2 hands. Both Vegas' parents are of rare dominant Curly Fox Trotter ancestry. Vegas gets his curls from Curly Jim, the original Fox Trotting curly stallion.
At this time we are able to offer frozen semen for Vegas. So far, our clients have had a 75% success rate with Vegas' frozen semen. Every season we also have a new selection of his curly foals for sale. Please contact us if you want to be notified as each new foal arrives or if you would like to speak with some of our past clients.

Rhys has an exceptional temperament, impeccable ground manners, and is a dream to ride. He has incredible suspension coupled with extraordinary agility and a back that just does not move while he is in motion.
Rhys has a powerful, ground covering stride; all the while maintaining his responsiveness to aids and sensitivity to his rider/handler. Rhys is highly intelligent, quickly learns new lessons, is eager to please, and actively seeks new challenges (like rounding up escaped Highlander Cows and jumping odd obstacles).
While Rhys has a commanding presence and personality, he is also gentle enough that our nine year old niece handles him with ease. Given how versatile Rhys is, he is the ideal stallion to breed your mares to for perfectly conformed offspring capable of excelling in any direction. Rhys presently has one Bashkir Curly filly (Spring 2008) and one colt (Spring 2007) on the ground and is expecting four full Curly foals and one half Curly foal in the summer of 2009.

HeartBreaker is a fine blend of Canadian and American bloodlines. He has excellent sport horse conformation, stands 15.1HH and weighs 1100lbs. He has a great willing to work attitude that he passes on to his foals. His powerful forward movement and expression and suspension in his gaits will improve most curly mares and many WB mares. HeartBreaker comes from a stellar line of curly horses. He has a lovely swinging walk, an expressive, hanging trot, and a forward uphill canter. He received a "9" on his canter in one of his 2008 competitions. Judges consistently like HB, his workman like attitude and his lovely gaits are always commented on. Many folks can hardly believe that quiet, calm guy is a stallion in competition! HeartBreaker produces quality foals that will have potential for grand things....He is a high color producer, black is his next favorite color to stamp his foals. Conformation to compete, the "heart" to succeed, makes for a great combonation in a foal...He stamps his foals with a well set on neck, strong top line, and nice hip, ( not so common in the curly breed ). Curls and color are topping on the cake!
After a good start on his career, in hand, 2007 + HeartBreaker has been shown under saddle. We are pleased to announce some of the highlights of his budding career.

We welcome any inquiries on future foals that will be sold next year and anyone whom is interested in breeding their mares to him. Aishihik Twist is a true black full curly stallion with a connected star, strip, and snip. His glistening black coat does not fade, not even during the long, hot days of summer. He keeps his long split mane and full tail year round. Aishihik Twist has very good conformation with athletic, bold movement and is 15.1 hands tall. He came here as a horse with limited handling, but now enjoys human interaction. He is a gentleman with the mares and has a kind temperament. Aishihik Twist's foals have all been curly and have his athletic movement. (3 blacks, 1 bay pinto, 1 bay, and 1 sorrel)
UPDATE: Aishihik Twist has been started with his saddle training. He is very intelligent, learning new things quickly and keeping his mind focused on his trainer. One of the last own sons of Curly Tom, he exhibits both Tom's exceptional size (he will mature at 16+ hands) as well as his famous gentle personality. From his dam (Lakota Woman) he is showing the energy and athleticism frequently seen in the Standing Rock Lines of Curlies. He has an exceptional Curly coat and maintains his mane and tail.
Currently under saddle, his movement is fluid and free flowing. Conformation wise he is spendid, with strong legs and great feet. Having just turned three in March, Peter is showing us what he will bring to High Desert Equine as a breeding stallion.
He will be an excellent choice for those looking to develop Sport Horse lines with both his height and sleek conformation, as well his intelligence and willingness to learn. He is a dark bay with 4 white socks.

Silver is somewhat more refined than most curlies, but still maintains the great feet and bone the breed is known for. His foals inherit his wonderful uphill build and movement, that makes any horse athletic regardless of discipline. He has a strong compact baroque build and consistently passes on his lovely round neck and topline.
See Silver in his early training, expo performances and his foals on his YouTube channel http://youtube.com/SterlingCurlies One of his most popular videos of him playing with his ball, has over 100,000 views. His personality has gained him fans as far away as Spain and Brazil. Though he is a fully registered curly horse he resembles an Andalusian.
So gentle he lives with his mares and plays with his foals. His temperament is outstanding. In the pics he is letting his 7 month old (14.1hh) half TB colt get the best of him. He also passes on his bay pinto colouring (hidden by grey) almost all the time. He is homozygous for black and will never produce a chestnust/sorrel horse, only bays, black, buckskin or smokey black, depending on your mare's colour. He tends to throw more fillies than colts. All but one of his foals have been curly and he has been bred to several non-curly mares. The last two foals were curlier than he is.
Live cover or shipped semen available. $400 to non-curly mares $600 to curly mares. He is a half inch shy of 15 hh, but does not squash height when bred to larger mares. He has consistently produced larger offspring with smaller mares, even offspring larger than himself.
He was incredibly comfortable to ride and so balanced, his effortless canter is like riding a cloud. He doesn't know how to be heavy on the forehand. His athleticism only matched by his intelligence and presence of mind. Most curlies have calm friendly temperaments and are often described as being more loving and playful like dogs. Silver has personality PLUS performance. His antics are endless and he loves to do tricks for visitors. He performs encores without request, to delay the end of a performance and his time in the spotlight. I have never seen a horse who loves to interact with people so much.
If you are considering a Sil baby do not procrastinate. This unique charismatic stallion may not be available for fresh shipped semen and live cover for long. Since he was injured some years ago, his condition has been worsening.

Update: Apache has been sold. Contact Barbara for new owner information.
Apache is an impressive young stallion that is just beginning to make his mark on the Curly world. His beautiful coloring is one of the first things you will notice - and no wonder - he is both a buckskin and a dun - and can pass either or both of these genes on to his foals. You will also notice his fabulous sport horse build, heavy bone and feet, lots of feathering on those solid legs, beautiful curl, a great build, and Apache backs all this up with a fantastic Curly pedigree. This great young stallion is athletic, and loves to move. He has just three foals on the ground to date - and they too are athletic, and inherited their sires wonderful color genetics. Apache's sire is the well known stallion Hawk's Midnite Shadow ABC 2300 - and he has certainly gained his fabulous movement and build from Shadow. Apache stands 15hh as a three year old, and should mature to 15.2hh or more. (This is a stick measurement - when measured with a tape, he is 15.2hh as a three year old.) Apache's foals have been confident and friendly, and are every bit as beautiful as their sire.

Amazing curl with sleek wavey coat in the summer. Solid build, hearty and great conformation. We took Chuck to an expo recently and he excelled in every way, doing the breed proud. We put him through some of the CSB obstacle course and he was amazing.
Possible shipping of semen with appropriate fees. Chuck has made it into our Hearts and Lives here.
UPDATE: Chuck is for sale!
If not sold by end of breeding season, we plan to geld him.

Buzz is our Junior Stallion foaled March 27, 2006, I have high hopes for this young man. We hope to have his first foal on the ground in March. He is a Buckskin Tobiano with primitive markings on his legs. Buzz is awesome to work with, he loves attention and thrives with a job. When I took him to the All Breed Horse Expo as a yearling, We were both fairly new to all this, I had been there only once before, and this was Buzz's very first outing, he handled it like a pro. I was more nervous than he was. I expected him to spook as we entered the indoor arena when he got a look at all the people and lights. Not even a flinch! I was amazed with him, and realized even more how special he was. For more information, photos or video feel free to contact me.
