Curly Horse Hauling Transport Companies

To add your favorite horse hauler to this list, just email me.

One of the biggest hesitations in buying a Curly Horse long distance is arranging the hauling. We want to help you find just the right hauler to assist you in transporting your precious Curly arrives safely, with minimal stress and handled with care.

Based on personal experience, the follow hauling companies have served fellow Curly owners well. Curly Horse Country in no way endorses these particular haulers, and the comments below are based on individual personal experience only. It is always in the consumers best interest to check out prospective transport companies before shipping, ie. ask for references from the company and do your own investigation before hiring.

*Would send any critter, anywhere with these folks! ~L

Zeigler Transport
I have used Zeigler Transport 3 times. I bought a Quarterhorse from them, and they were honest about him and were good sellers, he arrived in excellent condition with good communication. They have also transported for Curly Horse Rescue twice. The first was a very angry stallion who kicked their trailer and kicked the hauler.  They called us with reports throughout the trip and dealt with him humanely and effectively.  The second was a young mare with one eye who was born on the farm she was leaving, and had a history of colic.  Zeigler Transport made certain they had appropriate medications on hand for her, and were very mindful of her health status.  The trip was postponed due to an employee issue at Zeigler.  This was inconvenient, but they were honest and forthright, and had the horses best interests in mind when firing the employee and having to upset their entire schedule.  I do not hestitate at all to recommend Zeigler Transport, and would use them again with no qualms at all. ~M

COX equine Transporters
COX equine Transporters picked up our horses in NH  brought them to north carolina  when we moved year and half ago. Six (6) weeks later the same crew picked them up and brought them back to NH. They are were friendly, trustworthy, organized and dependable. They could tell me the exact day for pick up and then as it got closer the exact time frame. They kept in touch with me and my horses looked great after spending almost 24 hours on trailer. These are professional folks who run this and  have done so far many many years. I heard of them thru one of the local Vet's wife who buys and ships horses across the country. i don't plan on moving again, but if I do I would call on these folks again. ~C

Horsein Around
I used Horsein Around Hauling when I bought Sage. Sage arrived calm and unflustered, slightly dehydrated, but in good shape. He was very friendly with the man who delivered him and I could tell they had treated him well. They put up with my many phone calls checking on him as he traveled across the country, and I liked the fact that they stop for a day halfway through the trip to let the horses rest. They monitored the horses closely, and stopped every few hours to water them. I was really happy with their prices and quality of service. ~B

Bailey's Transportation
I used Bailey's Transportation to transport Shadow to Canada for a lease.  We had to have Shadow cross the border to Canada, and Bailey's Fjords are one of the companies that make the crossing. Lynda and Dan were great to work with, went out of their way to accomidate Shadow and us, and communicated very well.  Shadow was a little hesitant to get in the trailer, but Dan took his time and let Shadow make the decision to walk up the ramp into the trailer.  I was absolutely impressed with how well this was handled, and would not hesitate to use Bailey's Fjords again.  I highly recommend them. ~J

Bailey's Fjord and Transportation is an excellent service.  They worked with me to arrange the pick up, despite of snow storms hitting Michigan, and I received a daily update on their location and my horse's status.  My mare arrived well fed and watered, and they even brought along some feed from her previous owner!  I would not hesitate to call on them again. ~A

Pride of the Fleet

I have used this company for the past several years.  People whom I have sold horses to, gave horses to, and just simply suggested haulers, have also used them.  I have never been anything less than pleaed.  They have been kind an proffessional, helpful, and accomodating.  They have helped with hauling throughout our problems, and always keep in touch when hauling our horses.  They have worked with horses while on the trip, I went o see one of my horses who was going from down south to Wisconsin, he was overnighted at a horse hotel.  The haulers were training a filly to load properly so that she would not run over the new owners, they were so patient and knowledgable.  The filly went from diving out of the trailer, or in, to walking up slowly, loading, and unloading with confidence while I was watching.  It was incredible.  I will always highly recommend this family of haulers.~L

Aspen West Paint Horses
I can't say enough good about Bruce Hickling from Aspen West Paint Horses.  He hauled two horses for me (one in 2002, one in 2003) from British Columbia all the way through to Vermont.  Both horses arrived in good weight, good hydration, and obviously healthy and happy.  I was kept updated throughout the journey, and he understands border crossings and is competent in all the paperwork needed. ~A

We were very pleased with: Dwayne (Cathy) Harrish of D Bar C Horse Transport 780 918 1590 (truck)  or 780 789 2408 (res) RR 2 Thorsby, Alberta  T0C 2T0 We also were well served by H. S. KNELL. This is primarily a cattle moving company, but they have hauled my horses across Canada to Quebec and to Nova Scotia, also to Massachusetts via Toronto.  They set up a separate compartment and all went well three times. Call Bruce or Doug  519 442 3106   or   519 442  6242.  The horses arrived healthy and the cost was reasonable. Another past transporter was:  George (Linda) Gammie of Kamloops, B.C. (going West from Calgary) This was a small but good operation.  604 374 5209.~V
