Shhhhh....babies may be sleeping

Everyone loves babies, but there is nothing like seeing a foal loaded with curls! Curly eyelashes, curls in the ears, shirley temple corkscrew curls for a mane and a coat that reminds us of curly velvet. Everything about a quality Curly Horse foal is unique and special. They are born with an amazing affinity for humans, curiosity and calm temperament. Many who have owned other breeds tell us that a Curly foal is different than any other breed they have encountered. Their Dog-like, willing temperament, ability to learn very quickly and retain their lessons is extraordinary. Some curly foals are born straight coated or minimally curled, while others are born with extreme wire-like curls much like berber carpet. This is another awesome characteristic of the Curly Horse, the varied degree of curl you will see on each and every foal. Honey's Lucky Charm
My favorite trail riding horse, Walker's Curly Honey, finally gave birth to a fantastic little filly. After have two smooth coated colts, the third time was the "Charm". She looks a lot like her sire, Tatanka.

Baron's Rose-Etta
My straight ABC mare Desert's Dusky Rose needed a little help to get this filly out but she was on her feet in minutes. By the end of the first day another mare took a shine to the new baby and stole her from her dam. She's back with her mom and none the worse for wear. It's nice to see that the whole herd loves her. Rose-Etta is the only foal I was expecting out of RF Timber Baron who sadly passed away last year.

ZGC London is a curly Missouri Fox Trotter filly and just oozes with class! We adore her dark bay color with long black socks uninterrupted by white markings. London gaits with perfection just like her dam and has more length of stride than her sire, but all the smoothness. There is no pace on this girl! London is one of a kind!

OYY Jockomo- born 2-8-08 handsome bay curly colt out of OYY Tippateena ( my awesome driving mare out of Teena) and Mead's Chocolate Chip. I made a short video of him on his first day. He looks so much like his grand-mother. There are also photo's on my blog of Tippy, Teena and Jockomo first born.

OYY Iko Iko - born 2-11-08 a beautiful elegant curly colt out of Tall Trees Sassie and Clasic Dreams Cherokee Storm. This little fellow I think may be a dunskin, he has black tipped ears and a black tail. I can detect black hairs on his legs, a nice dorsal stripe-- so I'll have to wait and see what he looks like after his foal shed. He has 2 blue eyes- not sure if he'll keep those. Iko also has a short video on You Tube from his first day out.
