Meet our RAC Winners

MEGAN DICK - RAC Grand Champion - 11 years old - Alberta Canada
Total Points 777 (300 pts. for events & 477 miles ridden)

Megan is one of the youngest RAC participants, but that sure didn't stop her from being a tough competitor! Megan was pretty quiet during the contest, so when her logging sheets came in I was very surprised! I did a little investigating to find out who this special young girl was - and what an inspiration! Megan's family owns 5 wonderful curlies from 14 hands to 17 hands high. They are: Wrangler, Copper, Merp, Cassidy, and Crockett. Megan's Dad, Jordy is very allergic to straight haired horses and encountered their first curly at Sunnybrook Stables. In fact, Deanna wrote a little account of their first meeting. Read Article Here. Congratulations Megan for a job well done! Keep riding, promoting and enjoying your Curly Horses!

LAURA KIBLER - RAC 3rd Place - East Jordan, Michigan USA
Total Points 505 (20 pts. for events & 485 miles ridden)

Laura has shared some wonderful stories on our RAC adventure pages and it has been a joy to watch her and Billy throughout the contest. Laura purchased Billy in January and you can see a wonderful bond in the making. Her dedication to the contest has been inspiring, especially since the first ride of the contest left her with a broken finger that required surgery! (Don't ask, I had nothing to do with it! lol) Inspite of that, she got back in the saddle as soon as she could and really soared at the end - making a huge sprint for the finish line!! Wow, talk about overcoming & perseverance!!! Laura & Billy also helped to complete several of the CSB obstacles. Check them out! Laura is a mother of 2 young boys and works full time. Like many of us, she has found riding to be her stress-reliever and part of her daily routine. You go, Laura! Keep up the awesome riding! Congratulate Laura by Email

CARA DUNCAN - 4th Place - Illinois, USA
Total Points 491 (120 pts. for events & 371 miles ridden)

Cara is the coolest kid ever! (well I should say young Lady ;-) Cara is always upbeat and finds interesting ways to enjoy her curly, Sunny. Sunny is the only horse her family owns, which means much of Cara's horsey times are spend alone unless she attends a show or parade. I have been so encouraged by her ability to get motivated when that is hard for many of us adults to ride alone. I also commend her parents for supporting her dream of owning a horse.. Her and Sunny have a unique bond that is undeniable. It has been my pleasure to get to know her! Aside from horses, she has many other activites she enjoys as well. SOPHIE ALLIOUX - 5th Place - FRANCE
Total Points 410 (160 pts. for events & 250 miles ridden)

Without fail, Sophie has been one of the most consistent contributers of our RAC adventures page. Always sharing awesome stories and photos. It sure makes the world a small place when we can see fellow Curly Lovers so far away, all doing the same thing. Talking & promoting our Curly horses! Sophie has the most cheerful attitude and her zeal for riding, showing and promoting is so refreshing. It has been a joy to get to know her better and exciting to see someone so compassionate about the breed. Keep up the great work Sophie! Cheers from all your buddies here in the USA!!! ERIN ANDERTON - 6th Place - Florida USA
Total Points 225 (120 pts. for events & 105 miles ridden)

Erin is also part of our teenage crowd and what a gal! She started out this competition with a BANG! But due to JJ's not feeling so well, she had to give him time off and ride one of her non-curly horses for the remainder of the year. Erin was the only one to successfully compete in speed with her curly this season via RAC. It was exciting to hear her stories and see the pics of her and JJ running the barrels. Erin is also helping us with the CSB course. Her and JJ did the draggin items obstacle and are signed up for a couple others. We wish JJ well and please stay in touch, ya hear?
