Mini Challenges & Champions!

During the course of the Ride-A-Curly Contest (12 months), I will interject a 30 day mini challenge to keep the riders motivated.

The RAC's September Mini Challenge was all about PROMOTION! The winner who earned the most points by promoting their curly horse receives a beautiful Rosette Ribbon and special prize. Points were earned by starting a conversation with someone about the breed, wearing their curly apparel in public to advertise, writing an article in a newspaper or magazine & writing a curly story for Curly Horse Country and more.

1st Place: Ashley Ostman

YOUTH 2nd Place: Madison Ketter
ADULT 1st Place: Angie Gaines & Curly J
Golden Curls Ranch
ADULT 2nd Place: Susan Lejonhud

This year I decided to try something new. Prior to the riders knowing anything about the upcoming challenge, I asked each one to select one special Curly for this month. Then the challenge was announced, which included a series of 50+ tasks which they had to try to accomplish with that Curly. There were both riding and ground tasks with some additional tasks as well. All giving them points per task completed. They gained extra credit points if they blogged about what they did on the RAC blog, or took photos of them doing the task and even more points if they video taped them doing the task with their one special curly. This was an incredible month and everyone was so enthusiastic! Here are the winners of that challenge!

Each winner received a gorgeous rosette neck sash ribbon for their special curly and a beautiful moisture wicking v-neck tee personalized with their winning team on the sleeve. Click images to enlarge!
